“NOTAR” ON THE EIGHTH MEETING OF THE SEE NETWORK IN RIJEKA, CROATIA

On April 23-25, 2010, the Eighth meeting of the SEE Heritage Network was held in Rijeka. The meeting was organized by the NGO Pro Torpedo - Association for the Promotion and Preservation of Industrial Heritage of Rijeka, which is one of the SEE Heritage Network members. The meeting focused on the theme of industrial heritage of Southeastern Europe.

On behalf of the organization "Notar", the meeting was attended by one of its member, Mr. Joško Katelan.

The meeting was funded by the foundation Cultural Heritage without Borders (CHwB).

In parallel with this meeting of SEE Heritage Network members, was being held the Fourth Industrial Heritage Conference: "Ships and Shipbuilding Heritage". The SEE Heritage Network presented a series of posters. "Notar's" poster focused on the shipyards that had existed in Kotor and Perast back in 14th century attracted special attention. [Poster]

The hosts took the participating Network members around some very important industrial heritage sites in the territory of Istria.

„Notar“ at the Fourth Conference on digitization of cultural heritage for South-Eastern Europe (SEEDI 2008) in Belgrade

Ruža Danilović took part in the work of the Fourth Conference on digitization of cultural heritage for South-Eastern Europe region (SEEDI – South-Eastern European Digitization Initiative), held in Belgrade from 12th – 15th June 2008. On this occasion, “Notar’s” project “Central electronic maritime catalogue of Montenegro (CEKPCG) was presented through the paper entitled: „The Central Electronic Maritime Catalogue – a Segment of Montenegrin Cultural Inheritance Digitization“. The authors are: Sanja Bauk PhD, Ruža Danilović, Nataša Kovač MA, and Snežana Pejović.

This meeting saw the presentations of more than 20 different projects aimed at the digitization of cultural and scientific heritage of South-Eastern Europe. Also, some new tendencies were presented at the level of higher quality permanent archiving of digital information.

On Friday, January 21st 2005, at 7 p.m., «Notar» organizes the presentation of the Collection of works entitled “Church archives and libraries. International experiences in the preservation, appraisal, description and presentation of the cultural heritage stored in these institutions”, from the international conference which took place in Kotor from 17th to 18th April 2002.

The Collection came out of press in mid 2004, in the edition of the International Council on Archives/Section for church archives and archives of religious denominations (ICA/SKR) and the NGO «Notar».

THE SUMMER SCHOOL OF PALEOGRAPHY, KOTOR 2000 HAS BEEN CANCELED

Because of the illness of Mr. Paolo Selmi and the general political situation in our country the Summer School of Paleography, Kotor 2000 has been canceled. The new term of the school will be published on this site soon.

STUDY VISIT: MULTI-CULTURAL DIALOGUE, Brussels, December 2008

1-4 December 2008, in Brussels, Belgium, the European Commission hosted a study visit for the civil society representatives from the Western Balkan countries and Turkey. The theme of the meeting was "Multi-Cultural Dialogue. EU legislation and actions in the field of culture and heritage".

The meeting was organized by the People to People Programme, Civil Society Facility, DG Enlargement.
